Senior Algorithmic Engineer
Corista, LLC is a global company developing software for Pathologists, Hospitals and Pharmaceutical companies. Corista was founded in 2005 to create a Digital Pathology Processing Platform incorporating patented image compression technology for pathology. The digital images used by Pathology can routinely run 10G in size and this curtails the ability of pathologists to utilize a digital platform.
Corista’s managers have extensive experience in medical imaging, image compression, business development and pathology. Corista’s managers have 4 patents in image compression, another 19 in distribution technologies, which help to make up a patent portfolio of over 60 patent applications worldwide. Corista has contractual relationships with major healthcare providers and vendors each of whom intend to utilize Corista’s image processing technology and a digital pathology processing platform. This will allow the market to incorporate the best elements of PACS (Picture Archiving and Communications System) tailored to the needs of pathology.
The candidate will be a major contributor on a small tightly knit team of senior developers and scientists. He or she will be actively involved in all stages of product development for a young, privately funded startup lead by an experienced management team.
This person should have a strong understanding of Image Processing and Computer Vision, and should understand the fundamentals of image compression. The candidate should be able to implement, test and evaluate various state-of-the-art and novel image processing algorithms and techniques in Matlab and other software packages, and should have a strong understanding of the fundamentals of those algorithms. In addition to implementing and testing algorithms, a candidate will be expected to extend and combine known algorithms to create novel solutions. The candidate will also be expected to work with the software development team to integrate libraries and algorithms in Corista’s product suite. The type of individual we need is energized by working with cutting edge technologies and will enjoy the challenge of creating a successful business while working within small company constraints.
The Senior Algorithmic Engineer will report to the Dir of Engineering and be a major contributor on a small tightly knit team of senior developers and scientists. He or she will be actively involved in all stages of product development for a young, privately funded startup lead by an experienced management team. We are a small company and the successful applicant will be someone who understands the needs of emerging technology firms, can easily translate between technology and business, is an active “doer” and can lead by example.
The ideal candidate will be energetic, positive and outgoing, and have demonstrated success in building products that integrate cutting edge technologies into market successes. This role requires someone who has hands-on experience with both infrastructure and software product development. The product suite the company develops will incorporate a blend of technologies including those built in-house and those incorporated from the open source community. We also expect this individual to build relationships with vendors, contractors and external companies for all our technology related initiatives.
The type of individual we need is energized by working with cutting edge technologies, has experience building an emerging company into a dominant market presence and enjoys the challenge of creating a successful business while working within small company constraints.
Corista is the 2nd company to be developed by this management team. The first, Euclid Discoveries (www.eucliddiscoveries.com) has developed a video image compression technology that compresses video images and provides a substantial improvement over current state of the art. Euclid Discoveries is currently represented by a leading NYC Investment Bank in the acquisition process. The company was founded in 1999 and is privately funded.
